What is Frame Tagging and VLAN ?

Frame tagging is the process of adding a new layer of information to the header of a frame that contains a MAC address. This allows the frame to be routed to the correct VLAN and port. VLANs (Virtual Local Area Networks) are a networking technology that allows for a number of computers to communicate as if they are on the same network. They are used in a number of different industries, including aerospace and defense, manufacturing, and medical devices.
